Russian President Vladimir Putin confirmed the use of a new missile in attacks on Ukraine, in response to the Ukraine deployment of long range British and US missiles
In a statement, Russian President Vladimir Putin described the recent missile strike on the eastern Ukrainian city of Dnipro as a response to Ukraine's utilization of Western long-range weaponry. This missile, identified as Oreshnik, represents a new phase in the conflict.
Putin's remarks come amid growing concerns over the escalation of violence, with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky escalating the conflict by deploying Storm Shadow and ATACMS long range missiles. Zelensky's assertions reflect the increasing alarm regarding Russia's military capabilities .
The U.S. National Security Council characterized the missile used in the attack as an experimental medium-range ballistic missile, while Putin emphasized its effectiveness and speed, claiming it is capable of reaching targets at Mach 10.
